Out of all the amazing voices on the tech scene right now, we’ve taken a moment to gather some of the blogs that focus specifically on women in tech. Some of the major news and blog sites of course do have blogs about Women in Tech, like WIRED, Huffington post, Buzzfeed, TechCrunch, and Mashable. Out of these, Mashable’s Women in Tech blog was the most updated, which was honestly surprising to us. But here are some of the smaller yet still well-known blogs, often written by individuals, which you might not have seen yet, that we wanted to share as a source of inspiration, great ideas and fun!

Women 2.0

Women 2.0 is one of the most famous blogs out there about women in tech. The California-based initiative has been around since 2006. But it’s more than just a blog. It’s events and a global community. When we look at the numbers on their site, we’re completely blown away. The community has hosted over 500 events in 25 cities globally, and reached 55,000 people. More than 100 start-up founders have attended Women 2.0 programs, collectively raising $91 million in capital. Their blog has featured more than 5,000 blog posts. They have major sponsors, like AT&T, Google, Amazon, and others. Check out their interview with 13 year-old entrepreneur Mercer Henderson, and her response to the question “Why did you decide to become an entrepreneur?”

The Hacker Chick

The Boston-based writer, Abby, is all about inclusion and learning by doing. She’s a self-taught Hacker in Residence for Harvard Innovation Lab and the creator of Hack Boston. We were really inspired reading Abby’s post explaining the term “hacker.” Quoting Bruce Schneider, she writes:

“A hacker is someone who thinks outside the box. Someone who discards conventional wisdom and does something else instead. Someone who looks at the edge and wonders what’s beyond. Someone who sees a set of rules and wonders what happens if you don’t follow them… Hackers are as old as curiosity, although the term itself is modern. Galileo was a hacker. Mme. Curie was one, too…”

Women Love Tech

This site is pure fun - gadgets and tips and tricks. Written by Frederique Bros in Australia, the site is both beautiful and practical. It’s also pretty comprehensive, covering a wide array of topics from creating podcasts and social media curation to robotic suitcases.

Women in Tech DK

This Danish-based site is pretty new in that there aren’t that many articles, but we like the ones that are there!

If you’re looking for more inspiration, check this list out or this one. These are great ones to follow, but truth be told there should be many many more, please share your favorites with us too!
