Sourcing Manager for Surface Treatment

Your duties

Surface Treatment is a new segment within Commodity Purchasing and important in ensuring that Scania’s products are produced with the right specifications and quality that make Scania a leading brand in the Commercial Vehicle industry. In the role as Sourcing Manager, you are responsible for the commercial strategy for surface treatment within the Commodity Purchasing group, including securing the right supplier base for this segment.

As this is a newly started up segment, focus will be on creating a structure together with R&D, the Quality Assurance group and suppliers to ensure optimisation of quality, delivery and cost for all delivered parts to Scania. In addition, this role is responsible for creating understanding within the Purchasing organisation of the Surface Treatment segment and realising commercial improvements relevant for Scania. The role is also a commercial support function to other purchasers in discussions with Tier 1 suppliers related to this segment.

The work provides a good opportunity to work with an increasingly important segment within Scania, a dynamic business and within a high performing team. You work cross-functionally together with representatives from product development, quality and production.

Your profile

We are looking for people who are able to project manage and translate strategy into workable, tangible and realistic actions for the organisation. You are structured, commercial, creative, flexible and interested in technology. You have the ability to deliver results by communicating clearly, working cross functionally and managing relationships internally and externally. The role balances several tasks in parallel and deliveries are according to aggressive timelines. We expect you to be an engineer or business graduate with a couple of years work experience within project management or product development.

As the role involves a large international network and some travel, you will need to be proficient in both written and spoken Swedish and English. Other language skills are an advantage.
