In order to meet future demands for environmentally-friendly and sustainable transport, huge technical advances are required within powertrain development in the form of more efficient engines, emission treatment and electrification. In future, the control systems in our engines and gearboxes will become increasingly important to function, performance and environmental impact. The Powertrain Control Systems Development department is responsible for development of control systems for our powertrains. We place high demands on ensuring that the control systems we develop have the right functionality and are of the highest quality. To achieve this, we need constant innovation in respect of functions and their quality assurance.
The Embedded Tools and Test Environment group is responsible for developing our tools and test environments, which are used to test and develop our proprietary control systems effectively and in a quality-assured way. We develop test environments for Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-In-the-Loop (SIL) as well as a number of PC tools that are vital in many parts of Scania’s development organisation.
In order to raise development and testing to the next level, we are developing, among other things, an SIL environment where we can execute control system software in a PC environment. This simulation environment is the key to success with simulation-driven development of our control systems at Scania and is a major element in the challenges we face going forward.
We also develop diagnostic tools that communicate with the control systems and tools for managing large amounts of data, such as calibration parameters or data from our test vehicles. We work in close cooperation with our function and test developers. Most of our customers are close by, so we continually get feedback on our work.
As a Group Manager you will be responsible for ten or so dedicated employees with significant expertise in their field. You will be ultimately responsible for driving the group’s areas forward, and you will have a great opportunity to influence the development and approach to work within our area.
We are looking for someone with an MSc in Engineering or equivalent with several years’ experience within PC development or test system development. You should also have managerial experience, and be driven, responsible, communicative and interested in developing the business.
